Remit of the group

Mental health and dementia research. Our PPI Programme aims is to support and empower service users, carers, researchers and clinicians to work together to develop high quality research which is relevant to people’s needs. The CPFT service user and carer research group (SUCRG) is a virtual group which has expanded throughout the years. People with lived experience of mental health issues or dementia are supported to be involved at all stages of research and to facilitate learning.

Frequency of meetings

There are a number of ways that people are involved in our research, depending on the type of project and level of involvement that is needed. Some examples include: setting up Lived Experience Advisory Groups to discuss research ideas or projects; providing feedback on research proposals by email; being involved in project steering group meetings on an ongoing
basis; being involved in training researchers. Information about each involvement opportunity is provided before each activity (e.g. how often people will need to meet with researchers, what is the purpose of the meetings, what expenses and other support will be provided, what their role will be).

Who can consult the group?

Researchers within Cambridgeshire & Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust and any researchers who are involved in collaborative research projects with the Trust.
