George Clarke

George joined McPin in April 2022 as the research administrator. He had previously worked for the London Borough of Newham as a Covid response officer. He’s from Sheffield and also studied at the University of Sheffield, where he did a BA in History and Politics, and an MA in Political Theory. During his postgraduate studies he had a particular interest in continental philosophy, and the psychoanalytic theory of Jacques Lacan. Outside of work he practices and teaches meditation. He runs the meditation club at McPin. George has a particularly deep interest in the theory and practice of many different Buddhist meditation traditions. He is interested in developing ways of distilling the mind-training techniques of traditional Buddhism for our current times, to give people effective ways of managing, and eventually overcoming mental health conditions such as anxiety, OCD and depression. George also loves yoga, music, film, and spending time in nature.
