Mind Supported Self Help Evaluation

The evaluation will help us to understand service user’s views on Mind’s Supported Self Help programme.

Project overview

Mind’s Supported Self Help is a free, six-week guided programme to help people understand and manage their feelings. Mind provides materials to support people through the programme, as well as having regular check in with the supported self-help therapist.

Mind has recently incorporated a new chatbot into the programme at the stage of referral. McPin has partnered with Ipsos MORI to run an evaluation on Mind’s supported self-help programme and the new chatbot tool they are using.

We are working on the service user experience evaluation, which involves speaking to people who have used the service and gathering their opinions. Ipsos MURI are working on the cost-effective analysis, to see whether the chatbot is worth the cost for Mind.

Project details

Speaking to service users about their experiences using the programme and the referral chatbot is important so we know if it is appropriate and working as it should.

Two peer researchers from McPin are working on the service user experience evaluation.

They will be interviewing and running workshops with people who have used the supported self-help programme and new chatbot tool.

The peer researchers have also recruited a LEAP for the project, who will meet throughout the project to review and offer opinions using their lived experience on the different aspects of the study.
