What’s the project?
- We’re developing questions to measure the experience of co-production.
- Co-production means working together as equal partners to design research or services.
- The measure will aim to find out how much autistic young people feel included, listened to, and able to shape decisions when they take part in co-produced research or service design.
- We need help to check if these questions are clear and easy to understand for autistic young people
- The study will provide clear feedback on how autistic people interpret and respond to the draft measure. This will lead to practical improvements in wording, structure, and accessibility.
- The refined measure will be ready for future testing and will contribute to better ways of evaluating co-production, helping ensure that autistic voices are central in research and service design.
Aim: To test the clarity and accessibility of the draft co-production measure by asking autistic people to share their thoughts on each question.

We are inviting autistic young people and adults aged 16–30, who have experience of co-
production to take part in a one-to-one online interview. You will help us test how clear and
accessible the questions in the new ‘co-production measure’ are.
- The ‘co-production measure’ is a set of questions co-designed with other autistic young people. We hope to measure how much autistic young people feel included, listened to, and able to shape research and interventions.
- We will use ‘think-aloud’ and simple follow-up questions so we can understand how you read and answer each item.
- Must be based in the UK
- Stable internet connection
- Autistic young person / young adult, aged 16–30.
- Able to give informed consent.
- Experience working or volunteering with professionals (like charities, universities, or organisations) to shape research, services, or policy.
- You’ll receive a £15 love2shop voucher for your time.
- Use chat or voice, whatever feels best for you.
