What’s the project?
The Fixing Futures Review is a process to gather insights on operational aspects of the mental health support system. This review is a 15-month process, looking into children and young people’s mental health support in the UK. The Review is being led by the charity Healthy Brains Global Initiative (HGBI) with support from Bridges Outcomes Partnership.
The Fixing Futures Review is an operational review that will identify and test practical ways to make children and young people’s mental health services more effective, efficient, and focused on the outcomes that matter most to young people themselves.
It aims to capture experience across different mental health service settings and regions, highlighting what is working, what is not, and which outcomes children and young people themselves value most.
This information will then be used to design 5 pilot projects to test how the support system could be improved.
You can find more information about Fixing Future Review here.

The Review team is forming a Young People’s Panel to advise on the Fixing Futures Review. The panel will have 8 members in total. The Review team is looking to recruit 4-5 members via the McPin Foundation’s existing YPAGs.
The panel will…
- meet 6 times over the 15 months, over Teams,
- offer guidance to the Review staff on children and young people’s engagement,
- provide feedback on Review findings,
- input into pilot designs,
- receive paid tasks in between meetings.
Your insights will play a key role in shaping practical improvements to children and young people’s mental health services across the UK.
