What’s the project?
The project is supported by a QR Participatory Fund, aimed at creating resources highlighting the complex relationship between hearing voices and having suicidal thoughts. It is a collaboration between philosopher Lisa Bortolotti (University of Birmingham) and Fiona Malpass (Mind in Camden).

In early 2026, we will organise two online workshops (90 mins each) in the evening on a weekday to discuss experiences of hearing voices and suicidality with the aim of producing resources for professionals (brochure and video).
- You can be any age to take part in this project
- Must be based in the UK
- Must have internet connection
- Some lived experience of hearing voices and suicidality.
We can offer payment for participation (£25 per hour) and acknowledgement of authorship for the resources produced as part of the project.
If you are interested in this opportunity, please email Lisa Bortolotti ([email protected]) with brief answers to the following questions:
- What is your name?
- What is your date of birth?
- Are you based in the UK?
- Why are you interested in this specific opportunity?
- Please give details of any relevant experience
- Sometimes after talking about topics like mental health, people feel they need a little extra support or someone to chat to. What support do you currently have in place (e.g. supportive friends, family, health professionals or mental health charities)? Is there anything that Mind in Camden could do to support you or make your involvement experience better?
- How did you hear about this opportunity?
You are welcome to send your responses in audio or video format if preferred. If you need any help completing your expression of interest, you can get in touch with Lisa.
5pm on 15th December 2025
