Young people 16-19

What factors influence young people’s engagement with Social Prescribing?

Interventions • Lived experience • Mental health services • Wellbeing • Young people

What’s the project?

In this project, researcher Rachel Liscombe wants to understand what factors influence whether young people engage (or not) with Social Prescribing, as they don’t believe enough research has been done in this area.  “Social prescribing” is when people are connected to non-medical forms of support, for example activities that are creative or sports based, or advice to help with their education or housing situation. Rachel also believes that it is important that young people’s voices are included in research which impacts their lives, so that services can be improved in the future. This project is part of Rachel’s Doctorate in Clinical Psychology degree. The results of the study will be written into a thesis, and this will hopefully be published to be shared with other researchers and policy makers to help improve services in the future.
