What’s the project?
This study is being run by a research team based at King’s College London. The team are carrying out research to improve mental health care for young people who have post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) alongside other emotional difficulties, like depression or anxiety.
They are looking for young people with lived experience to work with them and help shape this research.

The research team are looking for young people with lived experience to work with them and help shape this research.
You’ll join a group of 3-5 young researchers. The group will:
- Participate in meetings in South London, including
- Over the next few months to help plan our research studies (approx. 4-6hrs)
- Later in the year to help interpret and make sense of our findings (approx. 2-3hrs)
- Contribute to writing up research papers and presenting findings (optional and support would be provided)
You are eligible if you:
- Are 16-25 years old
- Experienced PTSD alongside other emotional difficulties before you were 18 years old
- Received mental health care for these difficulties, such as from CAMHS or any other service
- Live in England and are able to attend meetings in South London (Denmark Hill)
You will be provided with training and support.
The team hope you will benefit from the experience, including:
- The chance to contribute to research that will improve mental health care for young people with PTSD and emotional difficulties
- Experience being part of their research team, learning useful research skills
- Payment of £25/hour for your work, and some transport costs could be reimbursed
