Remit of the group
The group is made up of service users from the north-west of England; it has six members. The group provides input into the research project, led by The University of Manchester, which is a clinical trial titled, Ketamine augmentation of ECT to improve outcomes in depression’. The group have provided input into patient information materials, into the recruitment process, into exclusion criteria and participated in Research Assistant training. Some members of the group are also due to carry out some ‘bolt-on’ research, which will be a survey with participants of the main study asking about their experiences of ECT and the research.
Frequency of meetings
When needed – no particular frequency. The group have met four times during the study, plus RA training and additional meetings about the bolt-on survey.
